Meet the Coaches
Greg Kuenning
Biography: Greg has been involved with the team since 1998, and is often credited with being a pioneer and resurrecting the team after years of being dormant thru the early 1990s. He is the "mastermind" behind the team and all that it stands for. In 1999, he set up the practices at Extreme Watersports, where the team still skis. While on the team, he was Treasurer and held the role of President in 2000 and 2001. His personal bests while on the team consist of holding the mens slalom record at 1.5 @ 32 off until 2010 when it was broken by Andrew Baker, 83 ft in jump (quarter cut), and around 400 points in trick (on a wakeboard because they didn’t know how to trick back then).
Philosophy: Master the basics and you’ll be able to progress quickly. Expertise: Slalom (Beginner-Advanced), Trick (Beginner), Jump (Beginner-100 ft) |
Pat Ewald |
Biography: Pat has been involved with the team since 2004 and skied four seasons with the team. While on the team, he served as Vice President for two years, and President for the 2008 season. One of his claims to fame is leading the team to qualify for its first ever Nationals in 2008, and bringing home the Division 2 National Title and Team of the Year awards. He is also one of the founding fathers of the team's motto, "Dont Suck!" Pat slalomed for the team, and his personal best was set at the 2008 Nationals at .5 buoys at 32 off, one buoy short of Greg's record.
Philosophy: Taking a few steps backwards makes going forward that much easier. Expertise: Slalom (Beginner-Advanced) |
Gar Bradley
Biography: Gar has been around the team since the early 1990s and has been a long time supporter of the team. Although he didn't ski for UC, he is one of the most valuable assets the team has, as he offers a lot of his free time up to pull people for extra practice sets during the week and weekends.
Philosophy: "REVERSE BANANA!" Expertise: Slalom, Trick (advanced) |
Clint Howell |
Biography: Clint has been involved with the team since 2000 and skied four seasons thru 2004. During his time on the team, he was Team Captain for 2 years and President for one. His PBs while on the team were 2@ 34mph in slalom, 280 pts in trick and 45ft in jump.
Philosophy: There are no frowns in water skiing. Expertise: Slalom |
Greg Hudepohl |
Biography: Greg has been involved with the team since 2008. He skied with the team for three seasons where he was Ski Lake Work Leader for two seasons and Treasurer for one. He skied all three events, and both tricked and jumped at 2008 Nationals.
Philosophy: Stay true to the team motto: "Dont Suck!" Expertise: Slalom & Jump |
Pat Richter
Biography: Pat has been around the team since 2003. Although his skiing career for the team was short lived, he has always been around at practice and team events. He is a workhorse at practice, and is a valuable asset to the team on Monday nights. Although not in school anymore, he still comes out to practices to lend a hand on some of the miscellaneious and often difficult work jobs on Monday nights.

Nick Perrino (aka Cowboy) |
Biography: Nick has been involved with the team in some way since 2004. Although he skied for the University of Miami (OH) from 2004-2008, he would often practice with the UC team during the summer months while back home from school. While skiing for Miami, he held the Mens Captain role for 2 years. He tricked and jumped and his personal bests were 1050 pts and 90 ft respectively. After graduation from Miami, Nick has been a regular at UC's Monday night practices. Most of his time is spent in the boat or on the dock helping beginner jumpers and trickers or leading various work projects around Extreme.
Philosophy: The more advice you get from the instructors the better. One person is going to tell you the same as another but in different wording, and that could be all it takes to make something click for you. Expertise: Jump & Trick (Beginner) |
